Aryna Sabalenka Sends Fans Into Overdrive With Beachside Offseason Photos
Aryna Sabalenka didn’t waste a single day diving into her offseason downtime. The four-time Grand Slam champion, fresh off a grueling year, jetted off for a break almost immediately after the curtain fell on the 2025 campaign and her fans are absolutely losing it over her latest swimsuit shots.
A Tough Ending Before the Break
Just a little over a week ago, Sabalenka wrapped up her season at the WTA Finals, where Elena Rybakina outplayed her 6–3, 7–6 (0) in Riyadh. On paper, Sabalenka entered as the favorite; on court, though, it was Rybakina who looked cooler under pressure, dictating the match when it mattered. Sabalenka didn’t sugarcoat it afterward.
“I’m getting old, I’m getting way too emotional,” she admitted following the loss a candid moment you don’t always hear from a world No. 1. “There’s still so much to be proud of, but it wasn’t my best. She was absolutely the better player today. She basically blasted me right off the court.”
Hard to argue with honesty like that.
Maldives Mode: Activated
With the WTA Tour officially on ice for the offseason, Sabalenka hit the Maldives for a genuinely earned breather. On Monday, she treated Instagram to a batch of sun-splashed vacation photos yes, the kind that make you glance longingly at your own calendar lounging oceanside with her boyfriend, entrepreneur Georgios Frangulis. If the name rings a bell, he’s the founder behind Oakberry, the superfood brand that’s blown up globally. The two looked relaxed, happy, and miles removed from the pressure cooker of the pro circuit.
Looking Back at a Wild 2025
Sabalenka’s season depending on who you ask was either another step in her dominance or a missed opportunity wrapped in excellence. In September, she reinforced her reputation as the undisputed hard-court queen by capturing the US Open title for the second straight year. That’s no small feat, especially in an era where repeating anything is brutally difficult.
But not everyone is framing 2025 as pure triumph. Rennae Stubbs, never one to dance around tough assessments, offered a blunt take while speaking to Tennis365.
“Aryna Sabalenka had another brilliant year, finishing world No. 1,” Stubbs said. “It’s been ages since someone repeated that. The consistency she displayed was insanely good. But and this is important I think even she would say that while it was a great season, it wasn’t the season she hoped for. With only one major, essentially just the US Open, I’d say she’d call the year a bit of a failure.”
A harsh label, maybe, but Stubbs isn’t wrong that Sabalenka set the bar sky-high for herself.
Eyes on Melbourne
One thing is certain: Sabalenka’s had enough of the “failure” talk. Come January, when the 2026 Australian Open gets underway, she’ll have her first shot at shutting everyone up — and if history tells us anything, she’s at her best when she has something to prove.
